I decided it was time to test the potatoes – see if there were any of those lovely, tiny “new potatoes” to be had from our enormous patches.
And this is what I dug up. Technically, I suppose they are “new.” – never having been dug before. Small? Not so much.
But they are going to be had for dinner and that’s that.
Also picked a bunch of herbs and the first raspberries. The rest of the day? Non-stop – almost overwhelming trying to get everything done. The weeding! Whew! And I had to open up the keyhole bed to more sun which meant attacking bracken, thimble berries and comfrey. Double Whew! And then pruning the grape and freezing another 100 leaves for dolmades.
And then watering and more weeding. Did I mention weeding?
And it’s already time to start dinner. And my Sweetie is still hard at it working way beyond 8 hours.
In the heat and the sun. I know I am currently drinking electrolytes – I can’t imagine how many buckets of those he’s going to need.
It’s summer. And guess what I’m doing tomorrow? If you thought of the two W’s (weeding and watering) you might be right.
