Lightning Strike

Lightning Strike isn’t a particularly long hike nor challenging. I don’t think we even broke a sweat.

But it’s beautiful – in gorgeous terrain. It wasn’t sunny – only broke out for a short time at about noon. But oh, the views! It did our alpine-loving hearts good. So Nicky and I took a lot of photos.

So I’ll just let the photos talk about the joy of the day.

Except for one little note. Listening to CBC (Now or Never) on the way home. I cried twice – two people who had both been in love and watched their loved ones die – and what they had to say about love. Love completely. Love hard. Love strong.

Understanding how lucky I am to be deeply in love with this beautiful man. How much I cherish that every day. How lucky I am to periodically feel an overwhelming rush of love for him. I am lucky that I am aware of all this – that it is rare, special, fleeting, and forever – all at the same time.
