I neeeded/wanted a very long walk today. Apparently, Chris and Cecilia felt the same way. Off we went to Strawberry Pass to do Mount Plewman.
We were not (I repeat – NOT!) expecting the amount of snow we found! Thirty minutes into our hike, we were in snow. And it got deeper and deeper and then softer and pretty soon we (read Chris) were post-holing to our knees.
Yes – we got to the top and it took us almost 4 hours!
Snow conditions.
And it rained a bit, and I tripped and face-planted and did weird and wonderful (not) things to my knee. On the way back, we took the old cedar route through a swamp and then a river that we had to wade through way over our ankles.
In other words – it was a truly wonderful day!
A typical hiking day.
Happiness.
