Ask and you shall receive.

Yes, I wanted asparagus. But I didn’t want it as badly as I wanted sunflowers. I focussed on sunflowers. I searched local outlets for sunflower seeds. I found none.

This morning I noticed a post on our community page. Someone had sunflower starts to give away.

I hopped in the car, drove into town and picked up 7(!!) gorgeous starts waiting for me on the front lawn.

They are planted in the new keyhole garden. They shall tower above the mint and nasturtiums and possibly the eggplants as well. As far as I’m concerned, this is perfect – a delightful food-forest(ish) garden section.

What else today? I feel like I haven’t stopped. Alisa and I finished the sourdough cinnamon buns – and I hear they are very good.

I did laundry and adored hanging it on the line in the abundant sunshine. I am currently baking bread and watering the garden after weeding and planting more pea starts.

Back to feeling like pioneeer woman or settler woman or some such thing.

That said, tomorrow I put on my hiking boots and shorts.
