Exploding Stoves

So this happened.

Yes – that is a gorgeous new stove – probably the nicest that Simon or I have ever owned.

But the exploding stove was only the beginning – who knew that stoves that go on fire have the power to essentially change the course of your life?

But that’s pretty much what happened.

We looked at stoves and talked. Well – if we’re going to buy a really nice stove, what’s the point if we’re selling this house? That was the starting point of a discussion that went down a few long and winding roads. It ended with, well – I can buy back half the house again and we can take it off the market and live here and do all sorts of exciting things – we can turn the old cabin into a man-cave and expand the gardens and – well – buy a new stove.

And so, just like that, I called my bank and Simon called the lawyer and and and….

Here we are.

And we are both so happy.

I have fallen in love with this place. I am putting my heart into the garden and the property and the house – just like Simon has always done.

A new beginning.

I just heard Simon say to his daughter, “This has been a big day – a special day.”

Yes.

And yes.

Joy.
