Davis Creek is likely Kaslo’s version of Pulpit Rock – or the flagpole, actually, given how high and steep the trail is. It seemed like a good hike today – sun shining, not too hot – and Abby got to come. It’s been a while since Abby and I did a solo trip.
It was, in a word, super. We got to the ridge top and then plowed on until the snow got too deep.
Abby enjoyed her favourite part of any hike – the sandwich part.
And then we headed down and back to a lovely bubble path. Meanwhile, Simon and Alisa have been doing wonders with the garden. My pea bed is ready to plant (tomorrow) and also lettuce. The new raspberry bed is taking shape. It’s all crazy exciting. Tomorrow, I attack the lower garden and hopefully get it done so I can get the rest of the potatoes and onions into the ground. And then top dressing all the upper beds.
Between the garden and hiking, I’m feeling – hmmm – the word that comes to mind is “fulfilled.” Yeah – that’s the word.
Oh – and I saw a big, fat black bear today. Not on the hike – just seconds after I started driving home. He was at the side of the road and looked pretty darn content. And we had our first humming bird visit the feeder today.
Yay and yay!
