Vancouver Island Spring

Today, Simon and I walked to an undisclosed location – not a park or rec. area of any kind. We saw no one. And that is why I am not disclosing the location.

It was warm and sunny with spring flowers beginning to bust out all around us.

Beautiful in every way.

It was the break I needed from packing. But it’s essentially finished. All that is left to do is taping up some boxes after last-minute stuff gets popped inside. Paul already has the fork-lift set up and ready to go.

Simon has taken everything off the walls.

Tomorrow night we sleep on thermarest mattresses on the ground. This will either freak the dogs out or make them very happy.

And that’s it. I can feel some stress starting to build. Not bad stress – just the feeling of having a lot to think about and a lot to do – and wanting to get it all done. A few more days…

Meanwhile, I’m keeping abreast of news – and maybe I shouldn’t.

I am so sad about Bernie Sanders. America had one chance – the same chance twice. The country blew it in 2016 and again in 2020.

I can no longer blame it on the DNC (the establishment). As the philosopher, Joseph de Maistre famously said, “Every country gets the government it deserves. Ultimately, people vote for their own interests rather than what is best for society as a whole. Lower taxes? Bring it on. To hell with the poor people and the services they need.

Yes – the US is now more an oligarchy than a democracy – but the oligarchs were put there by the people voting against their own best interests.

I shall focus on moving to the Koots. I just can’t do these horrible politics any longer (although I suspect I will – duh!).

Back to spring and the beautiful world we walked through today.

Safe travels Goody. Enjoy your new life. You will be missed. I love Bernie Saunders .He is 1 in a million and may be the only authentically genuine politician left in U.S. who actually identifies and reflects the real injustice and disparity we are surrounded by. At least this crisis aptly and directly illuminates exactly why Medicare for all is only way and that eventually extreme disparity backfires on even those hoarding the wealth because they survive on a foundation held together by the majority (the have-nots).He always cared more about the people than winning and is working hard to continue to pound away his message at a time it has undeniable weight and speaks directly to the truth.
Safe Travels and peace to you both.
