Packing day

The title says it all.

Packing and more packing. And yes, I got out in the glorious warm sunshine too. Not in a provincial park, of course – those are all closed. But I do have the back 40 and the Morden-Colliery Trail next door. So those were our walks today.

More importantly, I have everything except the kitchen packed. It’s at times like this that I am happy to be a minimalist. Judging by how much stuff is going into storage and how much to the house, I expect I could make do with a lot less still. Excluding long boxes for paintings, I have 8 small and 6 medium boxes. I doubt I will fill them all and I’d say two-thirds are going into storage. What I treasure most, is the most impractical stuff. I love my pottery and paintings and all the more decorative things I own.

And I like my rustic furniture – and yes, it’s going into storage too.

I have a feeling this is going to be a smooth and easy move.

I feel no trepidation about this. Much as I’m loving the warmth, the spring, the flowers and all the green here, this is no longer home.

Home is what Simon and I build together.

Let the adventure begin!
