Almost Perfect Saturday

Here are the conditions that made today almost perfect: a good. long hike over Robert’s Roost and all the Westwood Ridges; excellent company consiting of Abby (of course), Jennifer and her partner, Joseph. It was the first time I’d met him and he definitely gets the Goody seal of approval.

It was misty, raining, foggy – absolutely no views, lots of slogging through snow and then mud and also overflowing creeks. We got wet through and through – but it was beautiful. I felt strong and fit. We had good conversation. Abby had a lovely lunch (very important).

I had chocolate afterwards and a super hot bubble bath to warm up when I got home.

So why not perfect? Why almost?

It should be crustal clear. Simon was not with me (well – he was in spirit of course) – so this brought it up to almost.

Which, come to think of it, ain’t too bad at all.

And I do believe there is a bottle of white wine chilling in the fridge. Yeah – a glass of wine later this evening sounds like a fine ending to the day.
