So – that photo?
That was yesterday.
Today, it would have been foolhardy to take my camera out. It was pouring. I mean – really pouring, It still is and there’s going to be a lot more of it tomorrow.
In other words, it was a fine day to be working. I just now finished a full day. Whew! And to think I used to do this five days a week. Sometimes more.
But it was also madly satisfying. In other words, no complaints.
I took thirty minutes out of the day to take Abby into the back 40. And while I was walking I had one of those wonderful profound thoughts – the kind I make a note of and think, Awesome! I’m going to put that in my blog today.”
Nope – I have no clue what it was.
So far, the joy of my day was a quick phone call from Simon who told me that it would likely be another couple of days at least until his power is restored – and he has already been without power for two (three?) days. Well – he has candles and a wood stove. He has no cell service and rarely any phone service.
I will try calling him later this evening when he may or may not have service.
I think I said something to him along the lines of, “Well – and I’m coming back for this?”
And he said. “Yes – bring candles.”
Okay then.
This is the life I choose.
I know, I know. Yes to all your questions re: the state of my sanity.
