Such a day! I started with waking up and discovering that I have mice!
How did I know? Well – let’s see: a basket nibbled through and an apple halfway eaten – and not by me or Abby. And then these little oblong-shaped black thingies on the floor.
So, after laundry and cleaning and walking with Abby, I went to the hardware store and bought live capture mouse traps. They are now set up in strategic locations, the insides smeared with globs of peanut butter. Please, please, please let this work quickly and painlessly for all concerned.
And why oh why don’t dogs catch mice? Knowing my dog, she probably brought the mouse (mice?) in as a pet. I would not put it past her.
I was so damn traumatized that I also bought a bottle of wine. I mean, a girl needs some fortification, right?
I also did the hardware store thing of finding something to prop up my top-heavy amarylises – wire thingies and string.
As you can see, I had an exciting morning.
And then an afternoon walk to Cable Bay, feeling fairly competent (I mean, I did set some mouse traps for the first time in my life!!!) and then I came home to watch a movie.
And the most important thing in all this – I am filled with love – I am in love! (not just the wine talking.
Yup – love trumps all. Sorry about the “trump” word but it was, after all an actual word before it became tainted with fake orange peel.
