I was originally intending to hike tomorrow (Saturday) – but looking at the weather forecast I had the unique idea of making hay while the sun shines – so I went off today: to the top of Mount Prevost, the full circuit of the top and then back down a gnarly, alternate way.
It was warm. It was quiet. It was sunny. I was almost alone all day. I even encountered flowers.
So yes – a beautiful day.
Mostly, my mind was still. My heart beat to its own drum (I seem to be cliche-ridden today) – and I was happy to let it do that. I daydreamed about the future – and all the dreams had happy endings. Implausible? Maybe – but hey – happy endings! I blame it all on the author I am binge reading right now. I think I am on book four or five of the ones she has written. They pretty much all take place in the south of France – everyone drinks rose wine for lunch and champagne for dinner – EVERY DAY! – and they all end up living happily ever after. Well – no wonder – they’re bloody drunk 24/7!
