The only problem with working today was not being out on a mountain somewhere in perfect warmth and sunshine.
What made it completely worthwhile, however, is that I loved every minute of the work. It’s been a while.
I loved meeting with Dirk, discussing his needs – who he is – what he wants to say. He’s one of those authentic, nice, talented people – a pleasure to spend time with him. And we found every single point of agreement.
And then coming home and that familiar first feeling of overwhelm. OMG – where do I start? But I knew where to start: I’ve done this. First, get every bit organized and compartmentalized. Then attack it, one section at a time.
And here I am, end of the day and my first draft of the entire website is done. Now comes an even more fun part: polishing and honing. What I love about doing websites: every word matters. I consider them all – how those words are used, where they are placed – how few do I need? Fewer words often equal more impact. It’s challenging, creative and fun.
What I’m trying to say here is that it was a good day.
I like this. I plan to do more of it. One of the huge bonuses that I didn’t even consider when I moved back to the island – working again – and working at jobs I truly enjoy.
