Heart Lake

What a day: a lot of emotions; a lot of thoughts; a lot of feelings.

And I am letting the whole mess of them all (emotions are, after all, notoriously messy) sit and do their thing.

In the meanwhile, I went to the market and got yummy bread from Bodhi and yummy organic greens. Tonight’s dinner? A huge salad and fresh bread slathered in butter.

And then I took myself off to Heart Lake – doing that plus the Stocking Lake loop. It felt good to get out on the trail – with just a day pack. Excitingly, my back is almost back to normal. Whew! It was pretty bad for a few days. It feels ready to do Flower Ridge with a big pack again on Tuesday.

Tomorrow I will get ready and see if I can bring the weight down a couple of pounds. Maybe if I skipped the tent – you know, just find a rock to curl up under. Hmmmm….

It will be lovely to be alone up there for a few days – just me and the mountains.
