It was spur of the moment – it worked – and it was fabulous.
I messaged Penny this morning – we have to get together! Yes, she said. This afternoon , I said. Yes, she said.
And so we met at Bings Creek and took the dogs for a two-hour loop: plenty of time to catch up.
Her story amazed me. I knew the bare bones of course – about her 30-year marriage splitting up. But I didn’t know the details.
So here’s what I know: Penny is resilient, brave, strong, vulnerable, real and tough in the best possible way. She survived it all and ended up thriving because now she has a new love in her life. Her good friends stuck by her. Her daughter was with her all the way. And she’s in such a good space.
Penny is an amazing person. I feel blessed to call her “friend.”
My heart is full.
