Before I begin to rave about the bliss of Mount Becher’s glorious alpine. I want to share what happened when I got home. Just before hopping into the tub, I opened my emails and found one from WHOA Magazine (Women of Heart and Adventure). On a whim, I had submitted a piece late last week.
This was their reply:
“Goody, you are a DREAM! It would be an honor to share your story. You are hilarious!”
Well then! I am a dream and funny. Who knew? So they are eager to publish me. Hurrah!
The most important thing about this is the incentive it gives me to keep writing. Hurrah! And I know what I am going to write about…. The word “mountains” is probably involved.
I am feeling chuffed and wanted to share that. Oh – and will I become rich? Ah – no. Not by a very, very long shot. But I will get the coveted “exposure” and that’s perfectly fine with me.
Okay – Mount Becher. I was halfway there when I realized I’d left my brand new camera, that I so desperately wanted to use today, at home. Yeah – hiking alone today – a perfect opportunity to take lots of time with the camera. LOL indeed.
Oh well, I said to myself. At least I didn’t leave my lunch or my chocolate at home. I had my phone so that had to do. And it didn’t do too terribly badly. But best of all – what a day! Bliss.
I felt the love – the beauty – the magic of West Coast alpine. Better than the Koots? Absolutely not. Different. Both beautiful. Both to be cherished and celebrated.
