Jennifer and I picked a perfect day to do a “long walk.” Our 8 plus hour day took us across Forbidden Plateau, out to Cruickshank Canyon, then toward Circlet Lake, past Hairtrigger Lake and down again past Kwai and out the long way. Yes, it took longer but it allowed us to avoid the deep dark woods, which, given the condition of much of the trail, would have been horribly muddy and riddled with mosquitoes.
We opted to take the “better” route, even though it turned out to be uphill both ways.
This was a lovely first hike back in Strathcona. It’s so beautiful. I had almost forgotten how many tarns and lakes there are. I wouldn’t have tried to count them.
And that’s all I need to say – the photos can tell the rest.
