Whitewater Canyon

Today I took what is pretty sure to be my last major hike in the Kootenays. Four of us (three people who were complete strangers to me) headed up Whitewater Canyon. It was hot! Seriously hot. One young man was wearing a watch that records temperature. at 11 a.m. he recorded 29 degrees. And, of course, we had little or no shade. I felt it badly. One of us stopped at the moraine. I was considering stopping there as well. But after I dissolved some electrolytes in my water bottle, much better.

And off we went to the lake. From there on, I felt like I was back to normal hiking again. Sometimes I don’t think to take the electrolytes. Today I drank 2 litres of them and yes – a huge difference and I feel fine.

It was – a beautiful day.

And I shall let the photos speak for me.

And a PS – I received 2 emails from Hoffman today with links I’m eager to check out – plus a group photo from the second last day. Delightful.

And every day, at almost every moment, I can feel myself reaping the benefits.
