Yup – no sooner did Alisa arrive than Simon had her working hard in the kitchen – rhubarb custard pie. I suspect the payoff is going to make it all well worth the effort.

Simon has been excited for ages – it’s been about a year since he saw his daughter. Shanara completely lost it, crying with joy when Alisa got out of the car.

And she brought her budgie with her. Best not to let Abby see the bird because she will try to adopt it as her own.

So there’s lots of life in the house and that’s lovely.

Tomorrow Peter and I will be hiking at Fry Creek and exploring a new trail to the beach. With the extraordinary weather we have right now, it should be a fabulous day.

On another note, I got a chance to encounter/confront “courage” today. I am far away from being brave. All my old triggers are rearing their heads. And I’m glad they are. I want to confront these demons, fight them – hopefully even defeat them.
