Yup – one of those catch-up days: laundry and cleaning and weeding and watering and shopping and baking – and I still have to make my cookies.
But it’s all good. Excited that the Swiss chard is up and the second sowing of spinach is up and the first potatoes are up and etc. etc.
In other words, things are growing – and growing mighty well. I’m particularly impressed with the first sowing of lettuce, despite the fact that a bird decided to have a sand(earth) bath in the middle of the wide row.
It looks like we are on to hike Kuskanax on Wednesday. I don’t know how far we’ll get but with gaiters we should be able to get to the top or close to it – a bit of post-holing perhaps but nothing too serious.
Meanwhile my plans for the summer keep changing and I’m feeling remarkably at peace with that. Initially, my Coven women and I were going to get together in early June in the Okanagan – that may now change to Vancouver or the island – or elsewhere. No matter. I will not be dependent on the plans of others. I will be off somewhere on that weekend, even if it’s in a remote location with a tent.
And my priorities are getting stronger by the day.
And that feels right.
