Fry Creek

What a day! Tammy and I drove out to Argenta and hiked to Fry Creek Canyon – up as far as the washout and then down to the alluvial plain. And this is where it got really good.

We had no idea there was a wilderness camp there – which was neat – but what was amazing was the white sand beach – so much of it and such soft sand. And you can go in the water just wading out in sand – no rocks!

It’s a beach playground unlike any I have seen here.

The only other people we encountered were a couple who had come over in a boat and pretty much had it so much to themselves that the woman had opted to go topless. We also saw two kayakers offshore. That was it.

We wandered over the sand, loving it. And I am thinking the entire time, “I HAVE to bring Simon here!” And then, “We HAVE to bring Alisa here!”

After that we climbed back up and hiked another couple of kilometres over the creek and on to a lookout where we had lunch before turning back.

I am more sunburnt and I am warm. In other words, feeling pretty damn good.

While I was playing, Simon was working his butt off tearing down the old greenhouse. What a difference it makes!
