For me, the hike up Mount Sentinel this time around was pretty much all about the flowers.
They were amazing, beautiful, breath-taking – all sorts of superlatives. Those green meadows I loved a couple of weeks ago were suddenly in their full glory – carpets of blue Camus. And then there were the shooting stars and glacier lilies higher up – and scorpion weed and just everything.
I fell pretty far behind the big bunch of hikers because I just had to take lots and lots of photos – more than 50.
And it was (get this) my first shorts and T-shirt hike of the season.
It doesn’t get much more exciting than that.
