Today, Karleigh and I snowshoed up Mount Crowe via Mosquito Cabin – my new favourite way to go up. It was cold. It was windy. On the ridge, it blew cold and hard: not as bad as Lepsoe a couple of weeks ago but definitely getting into that range.
So perhaps it’s not surprising that we got to the top quickly and opted to scramble back down for lunch in the relative warmth of the Crow’s Nest Cabin. It would have been warmer if we’d managed to get a roaring fire going. We did our best; we made a fire big enough to send smoke up the chimney. But truthfully, it was nothing to write home about.
However, we came down the fastest route ever – straight through the trees on probably the best line I’ve ever taken.
From start to finish, including lunch break – 4 hours.
More importantly, we loved it.
