Yes – it’s incredibly good to be back home. I’m not a “homebody” per se and yet I am. While I love to wander and travel and get out and hike, I need the anchor of a place that I come to and feel good inside my skin.
And so it felt wonderful to come home to those things that feel like home: my familiar surroundings, the puppies, Simon – the comfort of those things are hard to express in words.
But they are an enormous comfort.
Because part of all this is selling the house. Simon looking for an off-grid property to live. Me looking for a rental on the island.
Changes – changes I don’t want to confront head-on yet. But we seem to be easing into the idea.
