No – “lethargic” is not my word for 2019 – although that is precisely how I feel right now. It’s a little after 4 p.m., it’s getting pretty darn dark and it’s, well – a lethargic kind of day. And no – I do not have a hangover, even though I think I should given I had 3 glasses of cheap bubbly last night.
At any rate, it seems we started the day off well – helping a family that got stuck at Cape Horn when their truck died – so that was nice. Once thing that’s beyond nice – I thought about all the people who are my good friends – and I realized that every one of them would have stopped and helped – gone out of their way to do it. Simon was certainly ready to go above and beyond. In fact he did – and would have gone even farther if need be.
And we did have a nice walk with the dogs on the rail trail and down to Owl Walk. And now – nothing to do but feed the dogs and prepare my pack for tomorrow.
Somewhere inside I am also absorbing all the news – political, ecological and environmental – looking at the challenges ahead – trying not to freak out – hoping the Dems can make a difference.
Still looking for a concrete way to help.
Letters to my local MLA and Minister of the Environment go unanswered. They think they have power – they are very wrong.
Power belongs to the people.
