So – today I organized another KMC hike – a whole ton of people and every one of them, a beautiful, wonderful person. Loved them all.
We had a terrific day including blue skies and sunshine until we finished lunch! (talk about timing!) I admit that I created a small diversion when a ski track intersected ours as we were getting near the top. Well, I thought, this looks neat – let’s go!
I realized pretty soon it was veering off course but thought, “Why go back when you can go forward?”
Up we went and climbed steeply to a knoll. Cool! But where the hell was Beattie?
We checked our GPS tracks and yup – we were right on track (whew!) – just a couple of hundred metres forward. Off we went. We did another steep up and there we were! Hurrah!
I announced my screwup. No one seemed to care. We took the correct track down. But here’s the thing: I loved the detour along that ridge; it gave us a top loop rather than a straight up and down. Hurrah!
And now – lots to do tomorrow. Madly busy day. And I came home to Simon having finished the last little detail for occupancy. Yup – it’s all good.
