It has been an offically unofficial day off. This meant that Simon and I headed out with the dogs to hike up Silver Bump (which was lovely) and then to come home, eat lunch and nap for a very long time. Essentially, we slept the afternoon away. Eek!
I still wonder if I should feel guilty about this.
I have decided not to. I will more than make up for it tomorrow, herding 18-some people up a mountain and back down. However, given it’s that big a number, I am allowed to lose at least one (10% attrition rate) so I shan’t worry too much.
I still have to do my paperwork for tomorrow and get my stuff ready, including a new “emergency” piece for my backpack: a bag of clothes dryer lint! (great fire starter – if I remember to check and see if I have a lighter in my pack.)
I am really looking forward to Beattie again. We should have a good track. And, because I am leading the hike, I get to set the meeting time! Yes! 9.15! I actually won’t have to leave when it’s still dark out!
Still feeling great about our house inspection report yesterday. It feels like we are finally on the move. In what direction? No idea. But, as one friend likes to say, movement is life. I would, of course, have to agree.
And as for the path – I loved the bit my friend Rosemary shared with me yesterday – a quote by Joseph Campbell that had me sit back and say – ohhhhh – and then, yeahhhhh:
