House in disarray

So – Jim from Nakusp has been at our house all day putting the new guardrail and spindles on the stairs – up and down. Whew! What a job. He’ll be here tomorrow too and maybe one more day after that.

Naturally, the place is a complete mess. Not that I care. It just limits my activities a bit because I don’t want to get in the way. And I’m so very glad this is getting done. And then Simon is starting to do something with some kind of joists (insulation, I think) and on the 29th, Peter comes to inspect.

And that should be that.

The work Jim is doing is absolutely fabulous. It’s going to make another huge difference in this place.

As soon as it’s done, lots of photos. Meanwhile, it’s really hard for me to think straight – so much conversation between Jim and Simon. And, of course, power tools. And I do not mind one bit. It’s getting done.

I’m organizing hikes for the weekend.

I’m so jealous of everyone on Vancouver Island right now, specifically where I used to live, because that’s where the next Green wave is about to take place. And I want to be part of it! Dammit!

But okay – I will be able to help somehow.

Meanwhile, I have been totally restless today. Going crazy from being inside – one small walk today was not enough.

I may just have to finish that bottle of Chardonnay I opened the other day.
