Thanks to Chris Cowan for this photo – scooting up the summit of Mount Plewman. Boy! – that was a great day.
Today was more interesting than it was great, but still good. Every time I set out to try something new, win or lose, it’s good. Either I find something new and exciting or I eliminate a path that doesn’t work. This is in line with hiking a new area. I love going down what I suspect is the wrong way first – that way I eliminate it and can proceed on the right way without doubts.
And so that’s basically what occurred today. Simon and I had a meeting with the “faces” of the local Green Party. We chatted for about an hour and I came to the conclusion that this wasn’t going to work for me. Not now. Maybe at some other time.
I will throw my focus into an area where I can do more good – where I can use my unique set of skills. (I know – unique – duh. What are those skills, yo may well ask? Beats me!)
At any rate. this talk gave me several new insights and was an excellent learning experience. It gives me food to chew on for a day or two at least – and to come to constructive new solutions.
In the meantime, I am turning my attention toward organizing another club hike this weekend.
And a new book.
And at being open to other new opportunities.
