Another nail in our coffin – a fascist leader for Brazil – a leader who will mow down the rest of the Amazon, murder the indigenous people who would protect the forest and allow mining and forestry companies to run wild through it – decimating it – killing the lungs of the planet.
Why? The ususal reasons – fast profits, greed, power, corruption.
And people voted for this. This is one of those days when I believe that humanity deserves to die. As the philosopher said, we get the governments we deserve.
So this is a day when I had to work at maintaining some sort of equilibrium. My head was aching. After a morning back five (yes – it’s now 5!) and a nap, I walked the Galena with Abby for an hour or so and came home to a clean wood stove, a cozy fire and a clean house (no – there were no elves – just something I did myself this morning).
And now I’m going to make a huge curry stew.
Something to keep me sane. I need to focus, at least for a while, on family – my darling Simon and the puppies.
That said, I feel like smashing something.
Okay – deep breath.
I have hikes – albeit small ones, but still hikes in the next two days.
