Today Simon and I celebrated our third anniversary!
Or, as we told each other, “We survived!”
It is now our sworn duty to make the next three years at least as hellish as the last were.
Hahah! Just kidding! (I think)
Seriously though, I look at this man and realize that yes, I chose him. I still choose him. I want to be with him for the rest of my life. And not just because he makes me giggle so hard that I come very very very close to peeing my pants. (Okay – sometimes more than close but that’s probably TMI)
At any rate, we have, in the past, done a hike to celebrate. Today we decided on a road trip because neither one of us has been to Creston. I drove through it a couple of times heading east but have no memory of it – and certainly neither of us has done it by taking the Balfour ferry.
So we loaded the car with the puppies – who are also celebrating three years of being together and are definitely determined to get on each other’s nerves as much as possible for the next three years – and we took off. The drive down the east side of the lake was lovely, We stopped for an hour or so in a wetland with a gorgeous trail and a beach access. The dogs gave their seal of approval big time.
They also got treats later in the day – more seals of approval.
We stopped in Creston and had a truly amazing lunch at a little cafe. OMG! Their soups and sandwiches, locally sourced products – amazing! And so we completed the loop over the Kootenay Pass and finally arrived back home.
Simon is building a fire. (shiver) and soon we will pop the champagne and then – the highlight of the night – drunken Scrabble! Yes – we know how to party!
