Simon and Peter and I had a stellar day hiking to the top of Mount Jardine – 1300 metres in 7 hours – and that included a wonderful ramble through the meadows and lunch in the larches.
Simon was amazing – facing his fears and going up that final really tough steep stretch with ground that moved away under his feet.
It was a beautiful day all around.
Most of all, I want to give kudos, praises and many tips of the hat to Tom from Kaslo who was up there on the trail with his chainsaw clearing away massive piles of deadfall. Without our volunteers, we’d be in big trouble on these trails. He was, in a word, wonderful!
And (another good part coming up….) – he has signed the trail to Ben Hur and cleared the trail!!!
