Today Peter and I did Reco Mountain – and we had all sorts of unexpected delights.
First, we parked the car just behind the big Retallack transports and when the drivers found out where we were going, they gave us a lift to the trailhead. Wonderful not to have to walk that road for an hour! And they were awfully nice and helpful.
Also – we had the mountain to ourselves – the mountain bikers were off elsewhere.
Also – the flowers were out of this world – by far the best I’ve seen this season.
And then, even thought there was haze in the air, the lighting and the location were perfect for lovely photos.
And then – we hiked back down after lunch and instead of going back to the road, we noticed a faint trail beyond the downward trail leading up to a far ridge. Well, heck! Let’s explore. And we did and it was a totally wonderful second ridge walk.
