Idaho Peak

It was a beautiful day to hike up the Wakefield Trail to Idaho Peak. But I’m not going to go on about the elevation and the blowdown and the beautiful views and flowers. Here’s the fun part:

We started up the last bit and ran into a couple from New Brunswick – nice folks – took some photos. and went on. We saw them again at the top and the woman comes up to me and says, “You remind me of someone I knew in Hinton – her name is Ellen.”

I said, “Ellen Aust.”

She said, “Yes!”

I said, “I hiked with her in Switzerland 3 years ago!”

And of course we laughed and talked – turns out that she lived in Ellen’s basement for 7 years.

Small world? Amazing!

It was a highlight.
