Have you ever had one of those days when you can’t properly wake up? Yup – that’s been me all day. Ideally, I would have started napping an hour after waking up and had seven 30-minute naps by now.
Alas – I limited my napping to one. Yes – I got stuff done but not much. Bread, laundry, dog walking, weeding, tomato pruning – that sort of thing. Even dog walking was hard – I stumbled along half awake.
I did however, manage to get a bit of planning done. How well it will go? Well – that’s a good question. Short term: Lost Mountain on Sunday and Idaho Peak next week followed by an Idaho Peak club hike which I’ll post after Nicky, Simon and I have done it.
Longer Term: Seven Summits near the end of June. Then the big backpacking trips: Cathedral Lakes in July, the Purcells (Jumbo Pass and so on) in August. KokaneeĀ Glacier also in August and Sol Mountain Lodge in September. In between – as many day hikes as we can fit in. That should make for a good summer. On the day hike list: Dennis Basin circuit, Alps Alturas, Jardine, Brennan, Old Glory – so far.
Those are the best laid plans. Plan B (there is always a plan B) is whatever comes up instead of Plan A.
Simon and I continue to explore our next move. Two things are important: community and home. But first – a meeting with our realtor tomorrow morning.
And now – for the next hour or so I shall try to resist another nap.
