Walking with the dogs in the sun today was pretty awesome: Galena Trail up to the point where it’s closed due to a slide. In other words, a nice, long walk with both pups taking full advantage of the creek.
I suppose the most interesting thing that happened today was a call from Ken Kirkby. We caught up on the past few years – and he suggested a re-thinking of the book I wrote about him. Sadly, the current publisher has no clue (or enthusiasm) for publicity. Ken has a few ideas – I wrote to get the rights back and we’re talking about a translation.
At any rate, I have set the wheels in motion and we shall see what comes of it. Ken is a man who has big ideas. What makes him different is that he follows through and usually sees them come to fruition.
And that, of course, is why I wrote a book about him – he is one of those larger-than-life people who make things happen. Happily, he’s also down-to-earth – so that’s nice too.
Am currently doing my best to organize a snowshoe tomorrow up Record Mountain. It seems to be coming together. And if it does, it should make for an interesting day tomorrow.
The rest of the time lately seems to be taken up with chores – for both of us. Now that spring is here, everything needs to be done and it needs to be done NOW!
