Davis Creek

This morning Tammy and I did the Davis Creek lookout. It’s Tammy’s favourite spring hike and I can see why: it’s straight up all the way for a bit more than an hour. I didn’t put my tracker on – but my guess would be 400 metres or so.

We beat the rain, which is awesome. In fact, it was pretty warm and sunny out that way. I brought the dogs and they loved it. We went to the lookout, contemplated going farther and chose to turn around. Tammy had to go to Sandpoint in Idaho and we both knew that we wouldn’t get to the Cedar Grove due to lingering snow at the top – so, I’ll call it a good two-hour morning workout.

The dogs are snoozing – tired and happy.

I napped for a whole hour when I got home! Not feeling quite up to par – nose has been runny since I woke up. And I feel like I could sleep for a week. Going to assume this is only a pollen thing and nothing more.

So – raining here and a bit chillier than it has been. So, of course, I wanted a bath. But because of spring runoff, a shower was more advisable (did that). And normally, who cares, right? But (you know how these things work) – because I couldn’t have a bath, I wanted one more than I’ve ever wanted anything – like ever! (well – maybe not anything and maybe not ever – but you get the drift).

So, I think I will curl up under my down blanket and read my book.

I could pout about the no bubble bath situation, but it’s only the dogs here to watch and they make a notoriously un-sympathetic audience. So why bother?
