sun/snow/rain/fog

Yes – we’ve had a bit of a whole bunch of things today including a sort of cloudburst. Happily, when we went to New Denver to walk the dogs, it was something like 11 degrees and the sun was shining. It was the kind of spring warmth that makes you slow down and even just stand there in the middle of the trail.

It was the kind of spring warmth that made Abby goofy, dragging monster sticks around, jumping into the river, dashing around dementedly in circles and wrestling with anyone who was game to play.

It’s really the first genuine spring warmth of the season. No snow in New Denver – only a patch or two on the trail – but coming home? Yes we came home to the persistent couple of feet of snow in the yard, on our slope and in our garden.

Sigh.

At home, I’m trying to keep the drywall dust down to a dull roar. The dust is winning. I cleaned, I vacuumed, I mopped. An hour later, there’s drywall dust everywhere.

Simon is cleaning the basement – although right now he’s doing things with the ruts on the driveway. He’s got the tough job. I haven’t even looked in the basement. I’ll have a peek when Simon has painted all the walls and washed the floors – and after I’ve vacuumed and mopped upstairs several more times.

Yes – the joys of preparing the house.

Tomorrow is a writing day: another short story. The day after is a huge snowshoe up Wolf Peak and then and then and then….
