We could not have picked a finer day for snowshoeing up Mount Crowe – the skies were blue, the temperatures were warm, the snow was idyllic, and the company, of course, was awesome.
No really – Tammy, Nicky, and Sheila – it doesn’t get much better than that. These are three of the finest women I have the pleasure of knowing – and calling friends. Humbles me, really. And those who know me will jump right in and say, “Yep – takes a lot to humble her!”
At any rate, we followed a ski track up. I’d wanted to go the long way and realized pretty quickly that our route was even more roundabout than I’d planned. But heck – why break trail when you don’t have to? And skipping the cabin was fine – the weather was so good. And I loved coming out at the far end of the ridge. Really beautiful. And so we took tons of photos and walked along the ridge to have lunch facing Lepsoe and Old Glory. Then the fun – schussing down like mad. Almost 2.5 hours up – and maybe an hour down. Awesome!
