Every week I write: two or three stories each week. And every week I look to submit either an entire manuscript (i.e. book publisher) or a story to a magazine. And so I had a success today. One of my stories was accepted by an online magazine. It will be published soon and I will post a link.
It’s not The Atlantic or The New Yorker – hell, it’s not even Mad Magazine. But it’s something. That’s what matters.
And Simon got a ton of publicity this morning with the official award for second place for his book cover design.
We both started the day well. And that is reason to celebrate. And so I wrote about a thousand words today of a new story. Again, it’s a bit experimental – a bit different. And that’s one of the reasons I like it. I’m having a fabulous time writing these “different” stories. Magical Realism – I adore it. I love creating worlds, letting my imagination run wild, seeing the possibility in things.
And so I got a good start today.
And then My twice-weekly email from Submittable gave me another opportunity to submit to a magazine – and I did.
And then a good snow hike across the street.
What I’m saying is that it’s been a productive day. And it feels good.
