Today I worked very hard – we all did – all three of us: Ben, Sheila and myself. In just under 7 hours, we gained 1,000 metres elevation (breaking trail through heavy snow at steep angles) and we did it in just under 10K. We were not moving fast.
It was hard. Did I already say that?
The higher we got the more beautiful it became. Our original aim had been the CBC Tower above Nelson. We decided we’d be lucky if we made it to Cherry Street Station – we fell an hour short of that. Whew!
But it was beautiful and coming down was fun.
I’ll let the photos tell the story. One additional note – my body feels so good after working so hard!
Came home to news that my mother fell, broke her hip, and is set for emergency surgery. She is 102 years old. The prognosis is not good.
This is an addendum to this post. My fraught relationship with her deserves a post of its own.
Sorry to hear about your mom, Goody! ❤️
Thanks, Pat
