This is quite simply going to a photo-heavy post. Eight of us snowshoed up Evening Ridge today – and let’s just say that third time’s a charm. Had to cancel twice before we finally made it. The weather was perfect: sunny, warm, deep snow – a good 600 plus metre grind to the top – a fun swoosh down for the most part – a great group of eight folks.
Best part: Nicky says I am genetically engineered for hiking. I do believe that she may be onto something there. For the first time in weeks, my body feels good – I feel grounded. Every muscle and sinew is saying, “Thank you!”
We did 6.5 hours, 9 K (mostly vertical) and it was heaven every step of the way. What a landscape – views and mountains and snow-wrapped trees.
