I’ll start with the snow – then I’ll move on to rejection.
Snow – falling all day – we’re inching up on three feet. We drove into town – roads are snow – everything is snow. I don’t think I need to say more. Suffice to note that tomorrow’s snowshoe trip is cancelled. Oh sure, snow is lovely for snowshoeing – hence the name – but you have to actually be able to get there.
Next – I wrote another story today – just need to edit before its done. But I did get my first rejection today from the Mink Agency. When I got rejections for my last manuscript, I really didn’t care. I wasn’t behind it. It was okay but not exciting – not my passion. It was missing.
This one bothers me because it was a form letter – and I am so behind what I am doing now – I am invested in it.
Damnitall.
It’s not about to deter me, of course. I will continue writing – and submitting judiciously. But I’m also going to screw up my courage and post one of the stories on this blog – tonight or tomorrow.
Please give it a read when you see it. And feedback – I am craving feedback. Tell me what you think.
Okay – I have some editing to do.
And some cursing about a season known as winter.
Keep submitting. I had some poems rejected from a magazine today. Rejection is more painful than I care to admit.
oh yes – I will…. and given the quality of your poems (very high) it puzzles me – how do they decide?
