Trains, planes and whatever else I can rustle up

This is my view. The airport. Let me explain that this is not my favourite view. In fact, I actually quite dislike it. Right about now I “should” be having views of trees, mountains and a road – and most of all my hubby. But no, I’m looking at overpriced gift shops inside YVR.

Yes, my flight to Trail from Vancouver was cancelled. On to Plan B, which is a flight departing at 2.20 pm. If that one is also cancelled, Plan C, which is an early morning flight from Kelowna and possibly a ride with a hiking friend who is flying to Kelowna from Cabo. Working at seeing how that might connect.

Meanwhile, I’ve talked to Simon who sounds even more fed up with our local airports than I am and, trust me, I am throughly done with them.

Even Nanaimo at its worst before it got instrument landing, was not as bad as this.

Naturally, I have no regrets about coming here but oh my gosh, I want to write and hike and live my life now.

Enough whining. The bright side of all this: I found a place to use my iPad while it’s recharging – charging stations are tough to find until you go through security. Also, I have a place to stay tonight if necessary. Also, I am alive and healthy and I have ten bucks in my wallet, which is enough to buy lunch with enough left over for a glass of water. I have a very yummy chocolate bar in my pocket to snack on this afternoon. I am alive and healthy and I have a ton of love in my life.

Whew! I needed that!

I really really really hope that my next post comes to you from deep within the Slocan Valley.
