Can you say fog in Vancouver? Yes fog delayed the flight coming in. By two hours. Still – why driving? Well, we also had a bit of cloud cover and we definitely heard the plane circling overhead. The pilot tried to land. Worked hard at it. And then the announcement telling us he had turned around and gone back to Vancouver.
There was nothing for it but to cancel the flight and drive to Kelowna. I booked a flight with Westjet. And then Elaine – another stranded passenger – heard our plans and begged to come with us. At first we thought, how are we going to manage that with both dogs and all sort of “stuff” in the car. But we knew we had to do it. So we figured it out and off the three of us went. I finally got on an 8pm flight with Elaine and her husband picked us up on the other end and drove me straight to Kathleen’s door.
What a nice person Elaine is. And Kathleen – couldn’t ask for better people in my life.
As for Simon. He said he would have driven me all the way to Vancouver if that’s what it took to get me there. Yes, he’s an amazing man. And I love him.
