Loved that day – and glad we went. Today, as Chris (the weatherman!) predicted, was quite awful. NOT conducive to snowshoeing. It has been raining and sleeting with a bit of snow here and there – and very grey skies. You could call them charcoal if you wanted to be precise.
And so I spent the day writing. Completed another short story. And (ta da!) submitted another story to a short story contest.
It feels rather nice to have two submitted so far.
Oh yes – also baked bread. Nadine visited with her portable hairdressing salon and left a very large chunk of Simon’s curly locks on the kitchen floor. He looks soooo much handsomer. Rock star handsome! Yep – pretty sexy.
Walk today – yuck! Just the back four. And really, it would be generous to call it the back four, unless of course it’s understood that I’m measuring four in yards, not acres.
Now for tomorrow. Am I going to get up Lost Mountain? It’s completely dependent on getting a ride. I will not drive over the pass. I’ve seen what the road is like in even slightly higher elevations. If I don’t get a ride, I will have to formulate a Plan B. Goddess knows what that will be. I just don’t want it to involve Red Mountain Road or anything remotely close to it.
Meanwhile, I still have things to do today.
Very pleased with the writing life. Oh – and Simon has made huge progress on the deck railings. I honestly didn’t expect them to make such a huge difference. Looking amazingly good!
As I said to my bro tonight when I talked to him – Simon’s a good man.
