Well now – wasn’t that a beautiful, wonderful, snow-filled day!
What took us three hours to do last week (top of White Queen) took almost four hours today. Breaking trail. Deep snow.
Worth every step. Even though we were totally socked in and had no views at the top – totally worth ever step!
How deep was the snow? Well, we each, in our own fashion, found the deepest depths. Most of us (all of us?) had at some point to be hauled out. I believe I fell once (twice?) and plunged into a deep hole twice. Yes, I had to be hauled out. But I do believe I fell gracefully and elegantly each time. (that’s my version of the story!)
Here was the real fun part: almost four hours up – 1.5 hours down! Yup – we zipped, we snowshoe-skied – we had fun!
I love the beauty of winter in the mountains here! Just heavenly!
