“Think?” you say. Can’t you tell? I mean, if your computer is on, doesn’t that tell you that you have power?
Well – maybe. This is what happened yesterday: we got excited. We celebrated. We had power! For three hours (maybe only two). We had power long enough to cook dinner. And that was it! Then it went out again.
This morning, Simon drove to Slocan City after breakfast to keep an online appointment and discovered that pretty well everyone except us had power. When he got home, he drove the other way, into New Denver, intent on giving BC Hydro an earful.
And he did! Because about thirty minutes later we had power. That means that we’ve been with electricity for three hours now! Wow!
This morning, while Simon was gone, I wrote another story on my iPad. Let me tell you, the iPad is not the ideal tool for this. But I did manage to get it done and then mailed it to myself. It took me an entire hour to edit it. It didn’t help that I unwittingly changed tenses halfway through the story. Duh!
But that’s done! I may even do more things today. I have no idea what but I feel pretty sure I can make myself useful, if only for the dogs who wouldn’t mind getting out.
No – they don’t care that it’s raining and I don’t want to get drenched.
As an aside – almond milk is a fine substitute for yogurt – in fact, it’s better.
As another aside – I live with a very fine man. Lucky to be loved by him. Happy to love him.
Third aside – I have so many more stories in my head. One of these days very soon, I am going to get organized with a list of agents. And this time, I’m pretty darn sure it’s going to go well.
