Yes – the sun is still shining and I’m making my metaphorical hay.
An hour ago, I was concerned about “Where am I going to go hiking? The only thing scheduled is Thursday!”
Oh the agony of it all.
Now – hikes are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday – and then, very likely, the entire weekend.
Good – the snow will come soon enough. I want to get out there. I have new hikes on my list – Silver Spray for instance – and possibly Woodbury. Larches! Sun! Fall!
Whew – so many hikes and so little time.
But I do feel a bit more useful today. I pulled weeds in the garden; I walked the dogs; I wrote another story; I am baking bread. Yay me!
And I have two more trip reports to write.
I like feeling productive. I also like being lazy. Now – if I can just combine the two – being productively lazy. I think maybe if I can conjure up a get-rich-quick-scheme and then hire a troop of Sherpas to do everything for me – that might just fit the bill.
In the meantime, I have a list of to-dos.
Today I Face-timed with my mother for the first time. I’m not sure she truly understood that she was seeing me in real time. She is about to have her 102nd birthday. And she doesn’t want to live. It’s sad. But, looking back, inevitable.
