Tammy and Francis and I headed up to Mount Jardine on the most perfect autumn day I have encountered in years. It was sunny and warm and heavenly!
I’d been wanting to do the top of Mount Jardine since we first did the West Ridge. Today was the day! I was expecting a certain amount of beauty – and I was not disappointed. We could see seemingly forever. The sky was that clear. But what I didn’t expect – or even know about – was the larches. I’d heard over and over how amazing they are when they turn to gold. Yes – beyond amazing!
I was gobsmacked.
And so as we climbed up the very steep side of Mount Jardine, I lagged behind, taking photo after photo.
It’s such a beautiful place up there – the bowls of alpine, the colours, the ridges – the views – I could not have asked for more. And, not surprisingly, we encountered no other people all day.
That’s it – that’s all. Why spend more words trying to describe perfection?
Very happy – yes, I am.
